Position Summary
Prince George’s Arts and Humanities Council (PGAHC), Arts’tination Coordinator position is a new role within the organization.  As PGAHC continues on its path of growth the Board of Directors working with the Chief Executive Officer agreed that having an effective Coordinator will contribute to PGAHC’s success in promoting and advocating for the arts in Prince George’s County and beyond.  The Coordinator will ensure that the Arts’tination location is open and ready for business.

Essential Roles

•      Manage the daily activities of PGAHC Arts’tination location

•      Open the location for Artists and visitors

•      Secure and lock the location at the end of the day

•      Assist Artist with setup and sales

•      Closeout sales and commissions at the end of the day

•      Serve as a site contact for artist operations

•      Manage sales transactions and inventory

•      Assist with in-store programming activities

Competency

•      High school diploma or Associates (College preferred)

•      Project support to management and administration

•      Desire to work as part of a team and willingness to promote PGAHC mission and strategic goals

•      Able to lift 20lbs

•      Ability to work with minimal supervision – self-motivated and confident

•      Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

•      Ability to work well with people from all backgrounds with varying degrees of experience

•      Confident public speaking and able to express ideas verbally and in writing

Supervisory Controls
Works under the general supervision of the Chief Executive Officer who defines overall objectives to be achieved.  The Coordinators work is reviewed for conformance to established policies and procedures, feasibility, compatibility with goals, guidelines and effectiveness in achieving intended objectives.

Work Environment
Work is typically performed in a retail setting in compliance with social distancing guidelines directed by Prince George’s County. Like many other organizations, our priority is our employee’s safety during the COVID-19 Pandemic.PGAHC has implemented a temporary Remote Work Program and will be publishing a detailed Remote Work policy in the near future.

Hours of Operation:              

Monday through Wednesday ON CALL 11:00am-9:00pm 

Set Schedule: Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday 11:00am to 9:00pm

1st Shift 11am – 4:30pm                      2nd Shift 3:30pm – 9pm
