Arvid Lee is a native of Washington, D.C., and grew up in the surrounding suburbs of Prince Georges County, MD. His artistic talents were evident as early as elementary school where his art was selected for numerous school displays. In high school he was an outstanding sprinter, taking first place in state-wide championships, which won him a full scholarship to Villanova University, where he graduated with a degree in business administration.

Arvid turned his attention to his need to express his creativity in his mid-twenties when he enrolled in art classes at George Washington University. He began by creating life-like portraits and was honored to have his art selected to hang in the birthing center at Howard University Hospital. He worked in several mediums including clay, pastels, watercolor, pen and ink. But it wasn’t until 2003 when he took a class in stained glass that he found the perfect medium for his expressing creativity.

Arvid’s passion is for creating Afro-centric stained-glass pieces that reflect the African diaspora. He gets inspiration from current and historical images of the rich cultural experiences of his ancestry. .His works connects with the soul, evoking emotions of joy, pride, love, hope, and wonderment.

His work was selected by the Arts and Cultural heritage division of Prince Georges County Md, to be displaced in the legislative state house in Annapolis, MD. He has participated in art exhibits throughout the United States and created many commissioned works of art.
