Culture, Justice & Heritage - Poetry of Social Justice: Poetry and Open Mic with the Poet Laureate

Prince George's County Poet Laureate, Sistah Joy, will host and share poetry at “Culture, Justice & Heritage – Poetry of Social Justice,” at the New Carrollton Branch Library, 7414 Riverdale Rd., New Carrollton, MD 20784 from 1pm-3pm.

In addition to poetic offerings by Sistah Joy, acclaimed poet and author, Alan King, will perform as the featured poet. Other exciting performances include Youth Poetry Ambassador, Noah Hinnant; Djembe drummer Doc Powell; Vocalist, AnDraea Keene Williams; and Visual Artist, Keiona Clark. Scheduled performances will be followed by an Open Mic in which audience members can participate. Light refreshments will be served.

This free poetry event is part of the monthly 2019 Poet Laureate Reading Series and is presented by the Prince George's Arts and Humanities Council (PGAHC) with generous support from the Prince George's Memorial Library System.
