PRINCE GEORGE’S FILM FESTIVAL OPENS CALL FOR FILMS FOR FOURTH ANNUAL EDITION

Largo, MD – June 13, 2025 – The Prince George’s Film Festival, proudly presented by the Prince George’s Arts and Humanities Council and the Prince George’s Film Office, announces the return of its annual celebration of independent cinema. The fourth edition, titled PGFF – Take Four, will take place September 25–27, 2025 in Prince George’s County, Maryland.

Now in its fourth year, PGFF continues to amplify diverse voices and support the creative arts through film screenings, panel discussions, workshops, and networking events that bring together filmmakers, artists, and audiences from across the region and beyond.

Submissions for PGFF – Take Four are now open via FilmFreeway.

Regular Deadline: June 30, 2025

Last-Minute Deadline: July 20, 2025

This year, the festival will accept entries in the following categories:

  • Short Films – Original works 35 minutes or shorter in the genres of Action, Horror, Thriller, Comedy, Drama, or Sci-Fi

  • Student Films – Original works created independently or for credit by student filmmakers in Action, Horror, Thriller, Comedy, Drama, Sci-Fi, or Documentary

“We’re honored to return for Take Four and continue showcasing the incredible breadth of talent and storytelling found within Prince George’s County and far beyond,” said Donna Foster-Dotson, General Manager of the Prince George’s Film Office and Director of PGFF. “This festival is about building community, sparking creative conversations, and providing a platform for new and necessary perspectives.”

In addition to screenings, PGFF – Take Four will feature community events, educational workshops, filmmaker talkbacks, and an awards presentation recognizing excellence in filmmaking.

“We believe in the power of the arts to inspire, challenge, and unite,” said Rhonda Dallas, CEO and Chief Curator of PGAHC. “The Prince George’s Film Festival is a vital part of our cultural calendar, and we are excited to see the stories that will take the spotlight in 2025.”
