Call for Artists: Mural Opportunity at BLC Civic Plaza in Largo, MD
We’re excited to announce a new public art opportunity in Prince George’s County! The Prince George’s Arts and Humanities Council (PGAHC) is seeking qualified muralists or mural teams to submit their credentials for an exterior mural installation at the newly designed BLC Civic Plaza, located at the Wayne K. Curry Administration Building in Largo, Maryland.
As a key component of the Blue Line Corridor (BLC) initiative, the BLC Civic Plaza is envisioned as a transformative civic space—a place where public art, community identity, and creative placemaking converge. This mural will be installed on all four sides of a new storage structure currently in development at the plaza. Designed to activate underutilized areas and serve as a signature destination, the mural will be highly visible to both pedestrians and drivers from McCormick Drive and Lottsford Road.
This project aligns with the County’s broader goals for the Blue Line Corridor: to elevate public spaces with art that reflects the community, fosters family-friendly experiences, and strengthens civic identity.
Project Location: BLC Civic Plaza, Wayne K. Curry Administration Building, Largo, MD
Submission Deadline: July 11, 2025
If you're a local artist or team passionate about storytelling through public art, this is a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on the cultural landscape of Prince George’s County.
