Celebrating the Arts: A National Arts & Humanities Month Event

Join us for β€œCelebrating the Arts” β€” a joyful, multi-genre celebration in honor of National Arts and Humanities Month!

This free, family-friendly event is presented in partnership with:

  • The Prince George’s County Memorial Library System (PGCMLS)

  • The Prince George’s Arts & Humanities Council (PGAHC)

  • Maryland Humanities

  • The Prince George’s County Truth Chapter of ASALH (Association for the Study of African American Life and History)

Curated and moderated by Prince George’s County Poet Laureate Emerita, Sistah Joy, the program will showcase a vibrant lineup of artistic performances, including:

  • Opera by Soprano Karen Wiggs-Wilbanks

  • Poetry & Spoken Word by Sistah Joy and Asad Sharpe

  • Visual Art by Russell R. Lewis and Kailyn Winston

  • Live Jazz by Ben Sands

  • Ballet by The Brown Ballerinas from The Paula Brown Performing Arts Center
