Juneteenth Celebration at National Harbor

As part of the larger Juneteenth celebration at National Harbor, PGAHC was proud to host Freedom in Full Color: A Juneteenth Paint & Sip Celebration — a creative gathering that brought art, culture, and community together in a relaxed and joyful atmosphere.

Held during the National Harbor’s weekend of Juneteenth programming, Freedom in Full Color offered attendees a chance to unwind and reflect through guided painting, music, and connection. With paintbrushes in one hand and refreshments in the other, participants explored themes of freedom, expression, and heritage — one brushstroke at a time.

PGAHC also hosted the Visions of Liberation Pop-Up Exhibit at the Belvedere, featuring a select prints of Arts’tination featured artists and a live painting activity with Resident Artist Rodger James. ’ Rodger James. These kinds of creative experiences have become a meaningful tradition for PGAHC during Juneteenth weekend. They offer a space for honoring history while celebrating Black creativity and resilience in an approachable, engaging way.

We’re grateful to everyone who joined us — whether it was your first Paint & Sip or one of many — and we look forward to continuing to use the arts as a tool for celebration and community-building.
