From Prince George’s to Center Stage: Myles Frost to Headline Chez Joey at Arena Stage
We’re excited to celebrate another milestone in the artistic journey of one of Prince George’s County’s own—Tony Award winner Myles Frost is returning to the stage this winter to headline Chez Joey at Arena Stage in Washington, D.C.!
Frost, who made history as the youngest solo actor to win the Tony Award for Best Leading Actor in a Musical for his electrifying performance as Michael Jackson in MJ the Musical, will now bring his magnetic presence to this world-premiere production directed by Charles Randolph-Wright (Motown the Musical, American Prophet).
Chez Joey is a bold and original story inspired by the real-life jazz club where legends were made—and where dreams collided with the harsh realities of segregation and celebrity in mid-century America. The show blends theater, live music, and movement to reimagine the 1950s club scene through a modern lens.
This marks Frost’s first return to the stage since MJ and his starring role in Ava DuVernay’s acclaimed film Origin, where he portrayed Trayvon Martin. As a proud Prince George’s County native and longtime friend of PGAHC, Frost’s continued rise is a source of inspiration for the next generation of creatives in our community.
At PGAHC, we are honored to celebrate his achievements and unwavering commitment to authentic storytelling. Whether he’s performing on Broadway, appearing on the silver screen, or lighting up local stages, Myles Frost continues to show the world the power of Prince George’s talent.
Congratulations, Myles—we’re rooting for you as always!
