PGAHC Hosts Advance Screening of Strung at Bowie State University

On June 17, the Prince George’s Arts and Humanities Council (PGAHC) welcomed film lovers to Bowie State University for a special advance screening of Strung, the new Peacock Original psychological thriller directed by Malcolm D. Lee.

Starring Chloe Bailey, Lynn Whitfield, Lucien Laviscount, Anna Diop, and Coco Jones, Strung follows Laila, a gifted violinist who accepts a prestigious position tutoring the daughter of an influential family. What begins as a promising opportunity soon draws her into an unsettling world of secrets, ambition, and danger. The film is produced by Tyler Perry and Jason Blum and written by Alan B. McElroy.

Following the screening, attendees were treated to a special talkback with director Malcolm D. Lee, offering an opportunity to hear directly from the filmmaker about the creative process, themes, and inspiration behind the movie. The conversation gave audiences a closer look at the storytelling and filmmaking choices behind the thriller and extended the evening beyond the screen.

Events like this reflect PGAHC’s commitment to creating opportunities for Prince George’s County audiences to engage with film and the people who bring stories to life. We were pleased to gather at Bowie State University for an evening of cinema, conversation, and community.

Missed the advance screening? You won’t have to wait long. Strung premieres exclusively on Peacock on Friday, June 26.
