This Is a Love Story - Creative Writing Workshop
A Creative Writing Workshop with Prince George's County Poet Laureate Tatiana Figueroa Ramírez
Every story begins somewhere.
It might begin in your grandmother's kitchen, with a family tradition, an inside joke, or a neighborhood that shaped who you are. It might begin with a language, a memory, or a moment you've carried with you for years.
Join Tatiana Figueroa Ramírez, Poet Laureate of Prince George's County, for This Is a Love Story, a creative writing workshop that invites participants to explore identity, culture, and belonging through storytelling.
Writers of color often navigate the tension between honoring their authentic voices and meeting outside expectations. Through guided writing exercises and thoughtful discussion, this workshop encourages participants to embrace the people, places, and experiences that have shaped them—and to write from a place of pride, honesty, and love.
Whether you're an experienced writer or simply curious about putting your thoughts on paper, you'll leave with new creative tools, fresh inspiration, and a deeper appreciation for the stories only you can tell.
