PGAHC Gives Update at Council Member Wala Blegay’s Downtown Largo Development Community Meeting
On Wednesday, July 16, 2025, PGAHC joined community leaders, residents, and developers at the Downtown Largo Development Meeting hosted by Council Member Wala Blegay (District 6) at the M-NCPPC Headquarters in Largo. The meeting offered vital updates on current and future development projects shaping the future of the Downtown Largo area — and we were excited to be part of the conversation.
Among the evening’s key topics were three major initiatives along the Blue Line Corridor: the Civic Plaza and the Central Library and Cultural Center. Council Member Wala Blegay provided updates on these projects, sharing progress on the Civic Plaza and plans regarding the amphitheater and fieldhouse proposals.
As part of the evening’s agenda, PGAHC had the opportunity to present on the forthcoming public art bus shelters and the proposed Central Library and Cultural Center, sharing our vision for how arts and culture can be deeply embedded into the heart of Downtown Largo’s revitalization. We highlighted the importance of creative placemaking, cultural access, and artist-centered development in building a vibrant and inclusive community.
The meeting also featured updates from Park and Planning on the larger Blue Line Corridor revitalization, along with presentations from local developers sharing project timelines and expected community benefits.
PGAHC remains committed to supporting equitable development through the arts, and we’re proud to be a part of the vision shaping Largo’s future. We’ll continue to collaborate with county leaders, planners, and residents to ensure that creativity and culture have a lasting presence in the heart of Prince George’s County.
Stay tuned as we continue our work along the Blue Line Corridor and beyond.
