The Prince George’s Arts and Humanities Council (PGAHC) is seeking qualified muralists or mural teams to submit their credentials for an exterior mural installation for the newly designed Town of Fairmount Heights | EXTERIOR INSTALLATION
The Prince George’s Arts and Humanities Council (PGAHC) is seeking applications from talented local muralists or teams to create community-driven public art as part of the Blue Line Corridor Placemaking Initiative. This initiative will bring three new murals to the inner-beltway municipalities of the Blue Line Corridor: the City of Seat Pleasant, the Town of Capitol Heights, and the Town of Fairmount Heights.
Each mural will celebrate its community’s unique stories, culture, and heritage—honoring local history and progress while envisioning future aspirations. These artworks will serve as lasting landmarks, fostering civic pride, belonging, and a strong sense of place.
This RFQ focuses on the Town of Fairmount Heights, one of the earliest planned communities for Black families in the United States and a designated National Historic Landmark. The selected artist(s) will design and create a mural at the pocket park near the town’s new Net Zero Energy home development, contributing to a broader vision of activating public spaces and using art to tell the community’s story. This project aligns with the County’s broader goals for the Blue Line Corridor: to elevate public spaces with art that reflects the community, fosters family-friendly experiences, and strengthens civic identity.
