PGAHC and FSC First Launch Creative Accelerator Program to Empower Creative Entrepreneurs in Prince George’s County
Largo, MD — May 2025 — The Prince George’s Arts and Humanities Council (PGAHC), in partnership with FSC First, is proud to announce the launch of the PGAHC Creative Accelerator Program, a new initiative designed to fuel the growth and sustainability of creative entrepreneurs and businesses across Prince George’s County.
Launched in May 2025, the accelerator provides a powerful pathway for artists, creatives, and cultural practitioners to strengthen their operations, sharpen their business acumen, and scale their work. The program is structured into two Cohorts to support both early-stage entrepreneurs and those past the early stage seeking deeper business management and operational support. The first cohort will focus on creatives in the fashion, interior design and home goods industries, and the 2nd will focus on those in the filmmaking and related industries.
With a strong focus on capacity building, financial literacy, marketing and communications, and business management and scaling, the Creative Accelerator is part of PGAHC’s larger mission to invest in the region’s creative economy and cultivate a thriving ecosystem for innovation and cultural impact.
“This program was designed with the real needs of creative entrepreneurs in mind,” said Sherri Bryant-Moore, Director of Partnerships at PGAHC. “We want to provide the tools, training, and community support that artists and cultural leaders need to grow sustainable and impactful businesses.” "We are extremely grateful for our partnership with FSC First, especially CEO, Dawn Leary and Yakita Wilkinson, Director of FSC First's Level Up Program, who recognize the unique needs of creative entrepreneurs and provided the funding as well as other resources to launch our program."
PGAHC has partnered with Mark Lawrence, Managing Director of Inncuvate, and Maggie Francois, Director of PGAHC's DPark3311 Designer in Residence program, to manage the program.
Through workshops, mentorship, and direct support, the Creative Accelerator offers participants access to knowledge, resources, and networks that are often out of reach for those working in the creative sector.
